Fondazione Umberto Veronesi for the progress of sciences

The Fondazione Umberto Veronesi was founded in 2003 with the aim of promoting scientific research and fostering a better scientific culture. This objective entails both the ability to protect a fundamental human right, i.e. the freedom of pursuing knowledge and progress, and the capacity to foster better conditions for everyone. Among its promoters there are internationally renowned scientists, eleven of which are Nobel Laureates and constitute its Honour Committee.
The Fondazione pursues its mission in two main areas:

  • The support of scientific research through the provision of fellowships for clinicians and researchers and of research-grants for high-impact scientific projects
  • The public dissemination of scientific knowledge through the organization of important international conferences, public events, didactic projects in schools, information campaigns and publications.

This highly ambitious mission is realized in synergy with the educational sector, private initiatives, public institutions, the media and the world of entrepreneurship. Vision, pragmatism, passion and determination are the primary tools through which the Fondazione pursues its main goal: providing a better and healthier life for everyone.
